Fabulous Feva results from our two Ballyholme Sailing Club boats at this year’s World Championship in Travemünde Germany. Double handed dinghy sailors Ellie Nolan and Niamh Coman alongside Jessica Dadley-Young and Sally Nixon fought hard over the 5 day event.
This RS Feva World Championship boasted nearly 140 boats from 19 nations. As the only IRL boats the girls enjoyed sailing alongside the GBR team for pre-event training. Both boats started off strong with top 10 finishes in their flights. This brought them comfortably into Gold Fleet for the medal races. Starting in the top 10 Jessica and Sally managed well with the challenging shifty conditions on the last 2 days finishing 18th overall (5th all female). Niamh and Ellie managed a 2nd finish as they started their Gold Fleet journey and despite tough conditions finished 30th overall (8th all female).
A huge well done to the girls and their support teams – very proud to have represented Ballyholme Yacht Club alongside Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club and Donaghadee Sailing Club.
