RYA Stages 1 – 4

Give your sailor an unforgettable summer on the water at Ballyholme Yacht Club! Our RYA Youth Sailing courses run throughout July and August and are packed with fun, friendships and confidence building adventures afloat.

From first-time sailors to those already progressing through the sailing pathway, our enthusiastic instructor team creates a fun, safe and encouraging environment for every sailor.

Every sailor learns at their own pace. Advancement to the next stage happens only when a sailor is comfortable and competent in all required skills, so completing a stage in one week may not always be possible. Beginners will start at Stage 1 and progress steadily through the four stages over time.

If your child has completed RYA stages elsewhere, please provide copies of their certificates. Cadets who have already completed a stage must bring their RYA logbook on the first day so the Senior Instructor can record progression.

Please note, courses require a minimum number of sailors to go ahead. Should this not be met, you will receive a full refund. If the course is already full, please email training@ballyholme.com to join the waiting list.
