Women on Water is coming back to BYC!
This is a great opportunity to give these fantastic water sports a go and meet a few new friends in the process! Come along and have a try. WOW is designed specifically for novice sailors. It starts at 6:30pm on Wednesday and finishes by 9pm.
The programme includes Sailing, Powerboat, Windsurfing, SUP!
No experience required.
Boats and equipment provided by the club.
22nd May - Sailing (Bahias/RS Quests) with instructors in the boat
29th May - Windsurfing
5th June- Stand up paddleboard (SUP)
5th June - Powerboating
12th June - Sailing (Keelboat)

Volunteers needed for major international sporting event in Bangor.
This summer Ballyholme Yacht Club is hosting a major international sailing event - The 2024 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships - with competitors coming from as many as 27 European countries and 11 non-European countries. The event is shaping up to be Northern Ireland's largest sailing event so BYC is advertising for volunteers to help ensure the event runs smoothly and it is a credit to Bangor and Northern Ireland.
This will be an excellent opportunity for students studying UPS, sports courses, travel & tourism, media and languages to gain some experience right on their own doorstep.
Roles include:
Welcome/ information officers: to provide information about the event, Bangor and Northern Ireland to visitors and competitors
Marshalls: to direct competitors from the boat parks to the launch area
Media liaison: help look after media, put together press information, social media posts etc.
The event runs from Saturday 27th July to Saturday 3rd of August. BYC
