RYA Safety Boat Course

Saturday 20th July – Sunday 21st July 2024

This two-day course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing or training activities. It includes rescue techniques and elements of race management and mark laying.

Content

Preparation, boat handling, dinghy rescue, windsurfer rescue, kayak or canoe rescue, towing, end-of-day procedures, safety, suitability of craft, local factors, communication, rescuing other water users.

Saturday, 20th July 2024 9.30am – 5.00pm

Sunday, 21st July 2024 9.30am – 5.00pm

Cost

BYC Members rate – £180.00

Non-Members rate – £225.00

NOTE: There is a non-refundable administration fee of £1.50 for each transaction

What to bring

• Your RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate
• Warm clothes; jumpers, hat, gloves etc
• Waterproofs (You will not need to enter the water)
• Welly boots or old trainers you don’t mind getting wet
• Lifejacket/buoyancy aid (if you do not own one we can provide one)
• Lunch/water

Previous Experience

Must have completed Level 2 and be a competent powerboater
