Junior Topper Development Series Winter 2025

Join us for an exciting intermediate-level Topper training series with Dan McGaughey, designed for sailors with Stage 3+ who are confident righting a capsize with minimal assistance.

These sessions are all about building on your skills from refining technique and improving boat handling to boosting your confidence, Ideal for sailors looking to take the next step on the RYA Racing journey.

This training will run in conjunction with the Junior Icebreaker Series on the following dates:

Timings 12pm – 4.30pm 

Saturday 4th October

Saturday 8th November

Saturday 6th December

Please note: Participants must supply their own boat and be registered as part of the JIB series.

This programme is supported by RYA Northern Ireland as part of the Pathway Club.

Training Details

Timings

12.00 – Arrival on site, get ready, and rig your boat

16:30 – Wrapping up after an action-packed day

Sailors to pack

Appropriate Sailing kit (wetsuit, spray top, boots, buoyancy aid, swimming costume, towel)

Your boat, fully prepped and ready for a training session

Snacks, drinks, and a packed lunch to fuel you throughout the day

Warm clothes for before and after the training

Pen and notepad for any notes, racing watch and cap

Pro Tips

Hydrate and snack up! (We’ll be on the water, so you’ll want to stay fuelled up.)

Even if the skies are cloudy, keep the sunblock and cap on hand—you’ll thank us later.

Changing rooms and showers are available to freshen up.
