A Highlight of the Sailing Calendar

The Ballyholme Regatta is one of the flagship events on the Ballyholme Yacht Club sailing calendar, bringing together sailors of all ages and abilities for a full day of competitive racing and family-friendly atmosphere on the waters of Ballyholme Bay and ashore in the clubhouse.

Whether you’re taking part, supporting from shore, or simply enjoying the buzz around the clubhouse, the Regatta is a celebration of everything that makes our club special, great racing, great people, and a fantastic sailing community.

Morning: Cadet Regatta

The day begins with our Cadet Regatta, giving our youngest sailors the opportunity to put their skills into practice in a fun, supportive and competitive environment.

Open to our junior fleets, the Cadet Regatta is designed to build confidence, encourage sportsmanship and provide valuable race experience for sailors progressing through our training programmes. Families are encouraged to come along and cheer on the next generation of BYC sailors as they take to the water.

Afternoon: Main Regatta

From early afternoon, the bay comes alive as the Ballyholme Regatta gets underway.

With racing for dinghies, keelboats and a wide range of classes, competitors from Ballyholme Yacht Club and visiting clubs across Northern Ireland and beyond will enjoy professionally managed racing on one of the finest sailing venues in the country.

Whether you’re racing for silverware, preparing for the next championship, or simply enjoying a day on the water with friends, the Regatta offers something for everyone.

Entries are open to eligible classes and visiting competitors are warmly welcomed.
