Support Boat Information
As per the event SI’s all support boats must register with the club via this booking system.
There is a refundable charge of £20 (please note the £1.50 admin charge is not refundable) per boat.
An identity flag will be issued to each boat registered and the £20 charge will be refunded via card transaction on the return of the flag. Please note identity flags will only be issued to boats pre- registered.
Support Boat registration closes on Wednesday 20th April 2022 at 12.00pm.
Support boats may launch from either the slips at Ballyholme Yacht Club, during the times specified below or at Bangor Marina by prior arrangement.
Berthing arrangements for support boats
Support boats must contact Bangor Marina to make their own berthing arrangements for the duration of the event and will receive a 10% discount on berthing fees. https://www.boatfolk.co.uk/bangor-marina
Support/coach RIB owners must also contact Boatfolk in advance for berth allocation, they must identify themselves as support/coach vessels to receive the 10% discount. Owners of these vessels will also receive a vessel identification tag and access PIN codes for the pedestrian gate. Owners of these vessels will be requested to pay in advance.
Please note Marina parking will be at a premium that weekend and available only to contract berth holders. Visiting boat owners and rescue crews can avail of the free Harbour car park adjacent to the Marina car park. Access to the Marina car park will not be permitted for drop-offs.
Launch arrangements for support boats at Bangor Marina
Launch/recovery – the slipway may be used to launch and recover vessels participating in this event. There are a few rules for using the slipway. The slipway must be cleared during a Lifeboat launch/recovery. The RNLI Lifeboat Station doors must not be blocked and there is no storage for trailers on the slipway / Longhole / beside the Lifeboat Station / Eisenhower Pier.
Launch arrangements for support boats at Ballyholme Yacht Club
Support boats may launch from the slips at Ballyholme Yacht Club at the following times only:
Wednesday 20th April – anytime but please be aware competitor boats will be arriving throughout the day.
Thursday 21st April – boats may launch only after all competitors have launched and trolleys stacked. There will also be an opportunity to launch later in the day during Thursday evening registration 4PM – 7PM.
Friday 22nd April – boats may launch only after all competitors have launched and trolleys stacked.
Recovery of Support Boats on Sunday 24th must only take place after all competitors are safely ashore and slipways cleared.
