RYA YOUTH SAILING SCHEME – STAGE 3

10th July – 14th July 2023

13.45 – 17.00

This course will be run across five half days.

It will deliver a range of skills including rigging, launching and recovery, sailing techniques, capsize recovery, sailing theory and sailing in any direction.

Assumed Knowledge

Up to and including Stage 2 standard

Minimum Age: 8

After the course

Able to launch and sail a dinghy around a triangle in moderate conditions

Ballyholme YC Members – £140

NOTE: There is a non-refundable administration fee of £1.50 for each transaction

What to Bring

– Wetsuit boots or an old pair of trainers *

– Swimwear for under the wetsuit, towel, dry change of clothes

– Sunscreen and a cap

– Water/juice and snacks

Please also bring your child’s sailing logbook so that the instructors can sign off what aspects of the course they complete along the way.

*Note: wellington boots, wetsuit socks, flip-flops and Crocs are NOT suitable footwear for dinghy sailing.

We can provide a wetsuit, spray-jacket and buoyancy aid (can’t guarantee all the sizes).

Changing rooms & showers are available.
