RYA Youth Sailing Scheme – Stage 2 24th-25th September 2022

 RYA YOUTH SAILING SCHEME – Stage 2

Saturday 24th September – Sunday 25th September 2022   9.30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This course will be run across three full days. It is aimed at Students who have completed their Stage 1 course.

Assumed Knowledge

Basic knowledge and steering ability to Stage 1

Minimum Age: 8

Content of the course

Improved sailing skills on all points of sail. Tacking, gybing, ropework and collision avoidance.

Ability after the course

Able to tack and control boat speed, and understand basic principles.

Ballyholme YC Members- £120

Non-Members- £160

Please note there is a non-refundable administrative charge of £1.50 applied to each transaction.

What to Bring

– Wetsuit boots or an old pair of trainers *

– Swimwear for under the wetsuit, towel, dry change of clothes

– Sunscreen/cap
– Water, snacks, lunch

Please also bring your child’s sailing logbook so that the instructors can sign off what aspects of the course they complete along the way.

*Note: wellington boots, wetsuit socks, flip-flops and Crocs are NOT suitable footwear for dinghy sailing.

We can provide a wetsuit, spray-jacket and buoyancy aid (can’t guarantee all the sizes)
