RYA Youth  Sailing Scheme – Stage 3&4

This course will be run across five days and is the next stage after completing your RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 1 & 2 and provides the skills to become a more capable and confident sailor.

Stage 3
It will deliver a range of skills including rigging, launching and recovery, sailing techniques, capsize recovery, sailing theory and sailing in any direction.

Stage 4
It is the next stage after completing your RYA Stage 3 and provides the skills to become a more capable and confident sailor.

BYC Members – £210

Non-Members – £250

NOTE: There is a non-refundable administration fee of £1.50 for each transaction

What to Bring

– Wetsuit boots or an old pair of trainers *

– Swimwear for under the wetsuit, towel, dry change of clothes

– Sunscreen/cap

– Water, snacks, packed lunch

Please also bring your child’s sailing logbook so that the instructors can sign off what aspects of the course they complete along the way.

*Note: wellington boots, wetsuit socks, flip-flops and Crocs are NOT suitable footwear for dinghy sailing.

We can provide a wetsuit, spray-jacket and buoyancy aid (can’t guarantee all the sizes).

Achieving the standard required for each stage is dependent on attaining certain competencies-it’s not a given that every child will progress at the same rate and achieve one or more levels in 5 days. Your child’s progress and next steps can be discussed with the Senior Instructor at the end of the course.
