BYSea Wednesday Night Cadet Swim

The BYSea Wednesday Night Cadet Swims are returning on Wednesday 29th June. We organise these as a way to introduce our younger members to open water swimming in a safe, controlled and fun environment.

These are open to Cadets of all ages and there are three swims:

  1. A 400m approx course for cadets who can swim over 400m in the pool – joined by a few adults
  2. A 200m approx swim that is for kids who need 1:1 support from a parent while swimming
  3. And finally there is the ‘Splishers’, again accompanied 1:1 by parents in water that isn’t much out of their depth

All swimmers must have a tow float or other buoyancy aid / floatation device. Swimmers on the two main swims must also wear a bright coloured hat. They will all listen to a safety brief, there will be rescue personnel on the water to assist anyone who needs it.

Registration: 5.30pm

Briefing: 6pm, 6.15pm and 6.30pm starting with the longest swim.

In the water: straight after briefing!
