Where to Stay?

We recommend that you organise accommodation as early as possible to ensure that you are close to the clubhouse where we will have a lot of social activities planned. We have a large number of guest houses/ B&B’s and small hotels within walking distance of the club. There are also self-catering apartments and houses to rent in the local vicinity. You can book all of this through the Bangor link on the Ards and North Down tourism website. The location of the clubhouse and address details can be seen on the map below. We have limited room for campervans altjhough there is more space available in the public car-park approx 200m away. Please let  our office know if you plan to camp or bring a motor-home.

More information about accommodation can be viewed at ballyholme.com/where-to-stay.

Local Attractions?

Our home town Bangor is a great place for an Easter holiday – for all of the family.

Bangor is a classical Victorian tourism resort but it has lots of modern facilities to entertain you and your family during your stay. Please click here for more information about Pickie Fun Park, Aurora (Olympic sized swimming pool and leisure centre), Eddie Irvines Sportsplex, our Multiplex cinema and many other attractions. We are only 12 miles away from Belfast with the Titanic Signature Building and Victoria Square shopping complex. You can also visit the world famous Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, have a walk around the Gobbins or visit the Mourne Mountains – Northern Ireland is not that large and most attractions are within a 2 hour drive.

If the rest of the family want to be more active, Bangor and North Down is home to many golf courses (including the home of Rory McIlroy) as well as some great cycling routes. You can even hire horses locally.

There are a number of local tourism websites including the new Visit Ards & North Down website

How to get here?

Please view our “How to Get Here page for travel directions etc.

For anyone travelling from GB, please let us know early and we will try to negotiate discounts with our local ferry services – P&O or Stena.

Belfast City Airport is just 15 minutes drive while Belfast International is only 50 minutes away.

Bangor has a rail (and bus station) linked to the Dublin train via Belfast Central station – only 5 minutes drive away. Let us know if you need collected.
