The 2nd Junior icebreaker of 2025 provided cold and calm conditions- 6 to 8 knots from the SSE. The usual format of three races on a windward leeward course consisting of two laps.
Hugo Boyd dominated the ILCA fleet with three firsts with Dan and Matthew alternating for second. Several new Feva teams out today braving the cold, with the Rideout sisters out in front in all three races.
The wind was slowly clocking left and the course needed reset for the 2nd race, thanks to Simon and Richard for being so efficient.
Great to see topper numbers up, welcoming Caroline to her first JIB and the squad sailors returning from Larne. Leo was clear ahead in race 1, also first in race 2 and Alex Eadie winning race 3. Recalls in two out of three races both fleets kept Race committee on their toes.
Cubes again ventured to the far side of the bay and could be heard singing on the way in… always a good sign!!
Many thanks to the team of Glynis, James G, Simon B, Izzy N, Hannah A, Charlie O’M, Kirsty M, Dessie G, Richard H
