Staffline Weekend of Speed – Cancelled

Following the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, The Weekend of Speed has been cancelled, as a mark of respect.

Ballyholme Yacht Club is delighted to be hosting the Staffline Weekend of Speed, a two day, seven race event for Multihulls, 29er and other skiff type boats with PN of 900 or less.

Saturday 17th to Sunday 18th September 2022

Entry fees

Multihulls, 49er, 49er FX, double handers £70.00

29er, single handed dinghies and multihull juniors* £60.00

Late entry surcharge (after Monday 12th September) £20.00

*Multihull Junior is aged under 21 on Saturday 17th September 2022

Please note that there is a non-refundable administrative charge of £1.50 applied to each booking.

The Irish Multihull Association introduced an innovative approach to their Championships  by inviting the Waszp and Moth Fleets, and 29er fleet to join them in a high-speed weekend of competitive sailing. The catamaran fleet race as a  Open fleet with Dart 18, Spitfires, Dart16, Hurricane 5.9 SX and a highly competitive  F18 fleet racing for their National Title.

Due to the huge interest and success of the event we are developing it into an annual event in association with one of our I.M.A. Regional or National calendar events. This year the event is being hosted by Ballyholme Yacht Club in association with our Irish Open Championships.

We are again being joined by the 29er fleet, the Waszp and Moth Fleet. We would be delighted if there are any skiffs with a Portsmouth rating of 900 or less that would like to join in the fray!

This could be the event of the year, a chance for us to see our young potential Olympic talent along with our Olympians and Olympic Contenders on show!
