RYA Start Wingsurfing Course – 1st September 2024 (9.00-13.00)

Learn to Wingsurf at Ballyholme Yacht Club

The first course in the RYA Wing scheme, providing a basic introduction to winging. It sets the foundations of learning to fly the wing ashore and afloat.

No prior experience required.

RYA Start Wingsurfing Course

An introductory course, providing a basic introduction to winging.

This course is split into two parts; flying the wing ashore, and getting afloat.

Together these sessions provide the fundamentals of wing control, translating its power into forward momentum and steering, whilst reinforcing the core skills of board balance to enable you to travel across the wind a short distance, gybe and return to starting point.

The course will be delivered by an RYA Start Wingsurfing instructor, with a maximum of 4 students.

We will use Red Wind SUP boards. If you have your own kit, please bring it along, but it may not be suitable to get the most from this course.

Our changing rooms have lovely warm showers for the end of the session!

**Whilst Ballyholme Bay is quite sheltered, courses may be cancelled or curtailed if the weather conditions are forecast to be unfavourable for learning wingsurfing.
