ITCA Topper Open Class Training February 2026

Ballyholme Yacht Club looks forward to welcoming the Toppers on the 7th and 8th February.

Training takes place from 10am – 4pm for both days

Training Information

We’re really excited to welcome the Toppers to BYC and look forward to seeing some great sailing on our waters. This training is funded by the Topper Class and is designed to support the development of sailors who are progressing into the sport and keen to embrace their racing journey. The focus will be on building confidence, boat handling and racing skills in a supportive environment. Sailors taking part should be able to complete a triangle course in a Force 4–5 and right a capsize with little assistance. We’re excited to have everyone on the water and to support the next stage of their sailing journey.

Timings

10.00 – Arrival on site, get ready, and rig your boat

16:00 – Wrapping up after an action-packed day or go straight into the Junior Icebreakers Race

Sailors to pack

Appropriate Sailing kit (wetsuit, spray top, boots, buoyancy aid, swimming costume, towel)

Your boat, fully prepped and ready for a training session

Snacks, drinks, and a packed lunch to fuel you throughout the day

Warm clothes for before and after the training

Pen and notepad for any notes, racing watch and cap
