The different types of boat sailed at Ballyholme Yacht Club

Laser: The world’s most popular adult & youth racing class. The Laser is a single-handed racing dinghy. The biggest attraction of the Laser dinghy is that it is protected by strict one-design class rules, which means that no changes are allowed to the boat unless…

The RS400 is designed for a wide crew weight range. The interior layout is simple with the principle control lines being led to either side of the boat, so that either helm or crew can adjust the rig control settings.

The light weight mast and mast bend can be controlled using a deck level screw and adjustable spreaders. Rake and sideways bend are further variable via the jib halyard. Both the main and jib are fully battened. The asymmetric spinnaker has an extending/retractable bowsprit that can be biased/offset/”rocked” to windward, allowing the RS400 to sail deeper angles offwind/downwind.

Northern Ireland Restricted Keelboat Racing Association. The Class has just been established (September 2013) so this page will change as boats join the Class.

The RS200 is the perfect sailing dinghy for small to medium weight crews. With an asymmetric spinnaker it provides excitement downwind and exhilarating performance whilst being manageable for a wide range of abilities.

ITCA (IRL) is the Class Association for Topper sailors in Ireland. We are known as “The Friendly Class”, with sailors keen to welcome new members and parents and supporters who are always happy to help one another and promote good sportsmanship. We organise coaching and racing events for Topper sailors both at a regional level and nationally, and although the Topper is sailed predominantly by junior sailors we have active members of all ages in our fleet.
