RYA Adult Dinghy Courses at Ballyholme Yacht Club
Learn to sail with Ballyholme Yacht Club and our RYA Adult Dinghy courses for 16 – 80 year olds. Choose from weekend or weekly courses. You can book as many courses as you like to build up confidence over the summer. Over a series of three courses, you can progress from Beginner to learning how to Start Racing – we would recommend that you plan to get practice sailing between the courses as well.
Most courses feature Laser Picos which are single-handed and Laser Bahias where you sail with someone else (often an instructor when you’re starting).

Until now, there has been little interest in Level 3 and Advanced Courses although the skills can be taught during Private Lessons. Please talk to our Training Manager or the BYC Office if you are interested in any of the more advanced courses.
All of our Adult Dinghy courses are based on the RYA syllabus with fully trained RYA Instructors in our fleet of Laser Bahias, Picos and RS Fevas. You can also use your own boat if you wish.
Once you have built up some confidence and completed Level 2, You can hire club Picos on Friday Night (Adult) Sailing or other times when rescue is out.
